Both are elopements, but today the wedding culture has embraced elopements to be all about intimacy and privacy, without the scandalous secrecy!

Today an elopement is a wedding day shared in a personal, intimate setting, either privately or with less than 10 guests.

Similar to a micro-wedding, couples are free from traditional rules and can opt for a destination, very few guests, a reception or to self officiate. Elopements are all about romance and intimacy!
